Teachers and school staff across the country are speaking out: Immigration enforcement has no place in or around our schools. Both AFT and Education Minnesota have called on ICE to respect the safety and sanctity of learning spaces—where every student, regardless of immigration status, deserves to feel safe and supported.

State and local officials in Minneapolis are outraged after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent fatally shot a woman there. Federal officials accused the woman of trying to run over officers with a vehicle, claiming the shooting was in self-defense. The city’s mayor says the video tells a different story. For more analysis, Amna Nawaz spoke with John Sandweg, who served as acting ICE director under President Obama.
